*The girl takes his hand, and he pulls her out. She takes a look at the crater that was her home for about half a year. She sees her ball, which has long been punctured, and the fast food cart which also fell in. She looks at Black Emerald.* Hey, are you ok? You look troubled.

"Liar. I can tell these things." He sees the sceptisism in her eyes. "Instinct, not power. Anyway, you know im a mutant already. So if i was gonna be horrible, then it would be because ur a human so there!"
The person with the siren continues to sound it in peoples ears. The crushed pedestrians are loaded onto the ambulance but no-one looks at the cat because it is too mangled to look at without vommitting. Several annoyed birds take flight. A building randomly collapses on the person with the siren.

*The girl smiles slightly.* Yeh, I'm a mutant, but don't tell anyone, okay? *She closes her eyes, and has a look of concentration on her face. The cat comes back to life. Unfortunately it is still disgustingly mangled, so it would have probably have been more merciful to let it stay dead.*

"Thats handy. What's y' name kid?"
The cat limps away backwards, its head having een twisted 180 degrees. Somehow, the person with the siren has crawled out of the rubble and proceeds to sound the siren in the cats ear. The cat dies from shock, a weak heart and the realisation that it is able to look at it's poo as it goes to the toilet.

Instinct kicks in again. Emerald takes a step back, the hairs on his neck rising.
A car hits the person with the siren. The driver gets out, looks at the remains of the person, then shrugs, takes the siren and glues it to the roof of the car with some convenient superglue.

There is a long pause. Emerald has heard of the 'X-Men', the self appointed ambassadors between humans and mutants.

Emerald goes with her, darkness trailing in his wake.
The modified car play chicken with another ambulance which jumps it and lands on the body of the siren-thief and cat. A boy climbs into the crater to steal Sophie's ball but gets stuck.
Will anyone help this trapped young boy with eyes like cartoon characters' and teeth that are rotting? Only you can answer this (he has laziness syndrome and may die if you make him work to hard!)
